Preppin for Repping is our annual Class Rep Conference held to make sure you know everything you need to get into your role as a Class Rep.
It's a brilliant event to attend so if you're a Class Rep this year you should definitely come along.
Preppin for Repping will occur in October or November please check back for more info nearer the time.
Class Rep
First and foremost as a Class Rep you are the representative of your class and the students in that class in the eyes of the University and the SA (Student Association)
The main responsibility of a Class Rep is to gather the views of their classmates and convey these constructively at University meetings and to staff members, ensuring the best interests of the students are being represented at all times, also to ensure that your class mates are kept up to date and informed of any developments that occur within the University or SA that concerns them.
As class reps you will be part of the SRC (Students Representative Council) which gives you a great forum to raise concerns or issues surrounding the students at Abertay. You will also be able to ask questions of the SA and how they are working to improve the student experience at Abertay.
During your time as a Class Rep you will also be invited to other meetings with other Student Representatives, with the Head of your School or faculty to make sure that at all levels the University is able to understand and react to what being a student at Abertay is actually like.

Opportunity to exercise leadership and initiate change;
Opportunity to voice the opinions, concerns and ideas of your classmates so that they may be addressed;
Receiving first-hand information from the Program Tutors and the SA regarding their activities and services;
Class Rep Material?
To be a Class Rep you have to be a confident outgoing person prepared to publically represent and voice the opinion of your class mates, skills that can be learned at the Class Rep conference. Most importantly you need to be willing to initiate change and work towards a more active role within the University of Abertay Dundee.
