Sunday 9th September

It's the first day freshers bonanza at Abertay, consider this the first of many chances to embarrass yourself in front of the new flatmates. Pole Jousting, Sumo Suits, Karaoke and the Kilted Caricaturist all feature for an unforgettable first night. This night is FREE ENTRY to everybody!

Monday 10th September

Don't bin your uniform quite yet, you may have just moved in but it's time to go back to School, our Freshers School Disco takes place across 2 floors in the Union, brave Bar One for the greatest in cheese or hit the Hideout for a Chart Music disco extraordinaire. £4 Entry to the Hideout (Get's you entry to all 3 floors!)

Tuesday 11th September

So this is pretty simple, he's a dog and he's gonna hypnotise you - what's not to love? This is far from the first time Freshers have seen a Hypnotist and they're always a laugh - although we fear it won't cure any cases of alcoholism. £6 entry. (Grants access to Hideout for artIFAKT Dubstep too!)

If Hypnodog is not your thing then check out the Hideout on Tuesday for our artifakt dubstep night featuring the likes of Chase & Status, Knife Party, Benga and Darkstar all fed to you by DJ Griff (Summerjunk). Entry is £3 but get in free with your hypnodog ticket!

Wednesday 12th September

Wednesday is going to be the definition of a messy night, 10pm sees the kick off of our Paint Party, leave your coats at the door and head to the Hideout. It of course works best for everyone if you don't suit up for this one. £4 Entry.

Thursday 13th September

Kicking off one of the busiest days of Freshers is Leon Jackson live in Bar One for an acoustic set in the early evening, consider this a chance to relax and reflect on the first 4 days of antics and ready yourself for the last few, it's only your Freshers Week once after all.

Time to throw you right back in it, the International Fest. kicks off from 10pm - for anyone who has travelled to study at Abertay and anyone who wants to show them how the Scots have a good time our International Party is always the source of plenty of amusing anecdotes. The theme is Stereotypes! £3 Entry

Friday 14th September

Your first option for a Friday night in Dundee, Tay in the Park, the concept is simple some of you will have been to Tennents little Summer excursion, some you of won't either way there'll be something for you to enjoy in our tribute to Summer freedom. Vukovi & Kazabian with support from The OK Social Club & The Little Kicks! £6 Entry.

Of course we don't all revel in spending a weekend lying on mud and grass, for those who want a slightly more sophisticated evening the alternative has to be Bar One's Cocktail Party - grab your friends and enjoy a relaxing night of tasty drinks at special prices. 

Saturday 15th September

Don't miss the opening event of Saturday Night where Drew McConnell of Babyshambles and Vaccines fame will head up a DJ Set Live in Bar One.

Arr! It be a pirate party aboard the Carbon Ship, fastest vessel that ever sailed the Seagate!
Carbon is Abertay Union's regular Rock, Metal, Industrial and Alternative night and for the first time it'll be setting off on Freshers Week!
